Saturday Update 1.8.20

Saturday Update    1.8.20

Tomorrow please join together for worship at 10a.m.  There will be a short video reflection on our facebook page and a words  version will be available on our website

We will join with others for  Evening Prayer at 7p.m. which will be led this week by the Connect clergy – a  short video reflection  will appear on the Connect facebook page which brings together the congregations at the west side of Inverclyde ( formerly referred to ass fuzzy parish) Please check look at the facebook page and join in the words of the prayer. The text of the prayer will be available on our church website and facebook page. The Prayer  Path which will be available at each of the six churches will be introduced and explained. If you don’t manage to see the video , more information will be available over the next few days.

I also want to share with you plans which are being put in place as we are allowed to open up our buildings. At the moment churches are permitted to open only for worship, which now includes communal worship. Our Kirk Session met via Zoom during the week and agreed a plan for the weeks ahead. At the moment we are preparing risk assessment documents which have to be approved by Presbytery , ordering handgel , cleaning products, hand sanitising stations and going through all the different aspects of the work that needs done. The Kirk Session agreed that 6th September would be the earliest we would open our buildings for worship and that we have to make sure that we do things well and with care . We will be keeping you to date with things as we progress and we will be sending out a newsletter at the end of August/ beginning of September with as full information as we have. Thank you for your co-operation . Take care – Karen

Many churches are providing online worship and a list is available on the Church of Scotland website. In this holiday season you might want to watch a service from a favourite holiday place.

Radio and TV programmes are also available, although Reflections on the Quay has come to an end.
