Messy Monday 6.4.20

Hi Messy Monday friends

This is a special week called Holy Week when we remember the story of Jesus ,from when he was welcomed into the city of Jerusalem on Palm Sunday through to his death on Good Friday and the good news of him being alive and with his friends and with us on Easter Sunday. You can follow the story with music and activities from Fischy Music and Spill the Beans, as well as joining in with Fischy Music’s assembly online on a Monday. You can access this through the website of Ferryhill Parish Church.

Sharing mealtimes together is an important part of Messy Church. We get to eat delicious food which others have made for us, to chat to others and to spend time with our families and friends, Why not have a special Messy Church meal this week?  Get out some card or paper and make a place mat, write the words of a prayer thanking God for your food onto the mat and pray the words together with the people in your household. I think Thursday evening would be a good time to do this because this Thursday we remember how Jesus had a special meal with his friends in an upstairs room. Jesus shared bread and wine with his friends. Perhaps you can have grapes or blackcurrant juice, a roll or a hot cross bun and remember that story and the meals we have at Messy Church.

And to get ready for Easter, why not start to make your Easter bonnet ? It would be lovely to see some photos of you wearing the finished ones at the weekend.

Hope you are all doing well. Take care

Karen and the Messy Church team

And at the end of today remember to say the blessing we use at Messy Church

From the top of our heads, to our shoulders, to our knees, to our toes

May the love of God be with us wherever we are.
