Messy Monday  26.10.20

Hello  Messy  Monday Friends

Asking questions is one way of finding out about things. There are all kinds of questions: easy ones, important ones, silly ones, sad ones

What’s the happiest question you can think of?

Can you think of an important question?

What’s the silliest question you can think of?

Lots of people asked Jesus questions

Sometimes Jesus answered people’s questions with a story, and at other times he asked them a question back. Someone once asked Jesus what was the most important thing that people could do. And Jesus told them that they should love God, with everything they had, their ideas, their dreams, their brains, their hopes. Jesus did not stop there, he went further, adding that they should love everyone else as much as they loved themselves.

Hearts Of Love

You will need: air-dry clay or salt dough (which can be made by mixing 2 cups of flour, I cup salt, ¾ cup of water and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil), coloured ribbon, scissors, pencils.

Take your ball of clay and mould it into a heart shape. Push a pencil carefully through the top of the heart to make a hole. Thread a piece of ribbon through the hole to allow the heart to hang. Carve out the word ‘God’ on one side and ‘Others’ on the other side as a reminder that God wants us all to love God and to love others too.

Take care and stay safe

From Karen and all the Messy Church Team

And at the end of today remember to say the blessing we use at Messy Church

From the top of our heads, to our shoulders, to our knees, to our toes

May the love of God be with us wherever we are. Amen
