January 15 – New Standards
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matthew 25:23
Sometimes we make life difficult for ourselves by trying to outdo those around us. Often, we would be better served by doing what we can do, to the best of our ability.
Dr Wayne W Dyer said: “My goal is not to be better than anyone else, but to be better than I used to be.”
Surely, if we achieve that goal, we will have the reward and satisfaction of a job well done.
Lord God. I thank you for carrying me through life’s difficult days. I have no doubt that you alone have kept my feet from stumbling and have kept me walking on the straight path. Continue to guide my wandering footsteps all the days of my life for I know that I am safe with you there to lead me. Amen
