Church Outing 2012

On Sunday 26th August and after morning worship, nearly forty adults and children took a bus ride down the coast to Kelburn Castle and Country Park.

On arrival, they settled down to have a picnic lunch and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Time was then taken to explore the grounds of the park. Not even a heavy shower of rain could dampen thing down.

In the Centre area a talk and display was taking place and various types of owls and kestrels were being shown by their keeper.

There was the opportunity to hold a bird in your hand.

As people made their way around, they shared the experience of the Secret Forest where the children ran amok enjoying what was on offer. Others ventured further to admire the the psychedelic coloured castle and the walled garden.

Soon it was time for a coffee or ice cream before we headed back to the field to finish off the afternoon

A game of rounders was quickly organised by gordon who participated while keeping everyone right with the every changing rules. We could not possibly accuse the honourable members of Westburn of cheating !!

Somehow the game was declared as as a draw with both sides claiming that they had won.

As time came to an end, there was time for a final bit of relaxation before we boarded the bus or cars to return home.

Many thanks to the organisers for a good afternoon.
